Another upcoming event in the Féile Talks/Music
Series is a bus tour which will be conducted by
Johnny O'Mahony, Tureendubh. The title of the tour
is called “Pobal Uí Caoimh and that way back “
and will be held on Sunday, September 28th. The tour
will commence at 13.00 and finish around 20.00.
The bus will pick up outside the post-offices in
Kanturk 12.00, Newmarket 12.15, Kiskeam 12.40,
Ballydesmond 13.00. The tour will visit Kilmurray
Castle and Kilmurray Graveyard, Kilnananima,
The Turnpike Cross and several other places of
interest in the western Duhallow/east Kerry region.
There will be a refreshments stop enroute at
Hughes's Bar in Cordal at 4.30 and then the tour
will head for Kiskeam where a music session with
local musicians Maurice O'Keeffe, Mick Culloty,
Dan Jeremiah O'Connor, Tom Carroll and
Special Guests will take place from 6 to 8 o'clock at
the Why Not Bar. The bus will leave Kiskeam at
8.30 for Newmarket & Kanturk . Home around 9.
